MARITAL AND FAMILY AGREEMENTS

Our office prepares and reviews a wide variety of agreements for couples and families:

A Premartial Agreement (commonly referred to as a "Pre-Nup”) may be utilized for a couple preparing to marry or enter into a Registered Domestic Partnership.  Through a Pre-Nup, a couple may wish to limit or expand the legal rights and obligations associated with marriage or registered domestic partnership.

A Postmarital Agreement (a "Post-Nup”) sets forth similar wishes to a Pre-Nup, but is executed after the marriage or registered domestic partnership.

A Transmutation Agreements between spouses sets forth a clear understanding between them that a certain asset(s) is the separate property of one of the spouses, or the community property of both.

Not every family clearly has one father and one mother, as we know, families are unique to themselves, and no two look exactly alike.  A Co-Parenting Agreement may be utilized when children are being raised by parents who do not live in the same house, and even where two adults live in one home, are raising the children together, but the adults are not in any formal legal relationship, and one of the adults may not have any legal tie to the children they are raising.
